"Hello Yellow!" - Celebrating World Mental Health Day!

Seymour Hill Primary School shone with yellow for World Mental Health Day for #HelloYellow!

On Friday, our entire school proudly participated in the #HelloYellow campaign for World Mental Health Day. We wore yellow for two important reasons: to make mental health visible and to reflect the positivity and hope that the colour represents.

It was a day of learning, connecting, and celebrating the power of a healthy mind.

We began the day with a whole school assembly led by Mr. Rainey, who spoke to all of us about the importance of our mental health and looking after ourselves and each other. His message set a wonderful tone for the day's activities.

Throughout the day, classes all focused on key activities to promote positive habits:

Most classes watched videos and completed tasks designed to help us understand our emotions and the importance of kindness to ourselves and others.

Other classes made sure to get outside and move their bodies! They did exercises together, recognizing that physical activity is a powerful tool for boosting our mental health.

Some classes took their learning outside, creating people using elements from nature to represent happy and positive feelings, connecting creativity with the fresh air and environment.

It was a wonderful day of reflection, collaboration, and learning. We are committed to nurturing a supportive school environment where every pupil feels seen and heard.

Thank you to everyone for getting involved in World Mental Health Day!
